Surviving a Fire with Florida Condominium Insurance

Category: Our Blog

Do you have Florida condominium insurance? You should. Anyone who deems coverage unnecessary has probably never experienced a fire in their home or a natural disaster. Even if you consider yourself a fire safety expert, you should keep in mind that your condo is connected to other people’s residences, meaning their actions could affect you.

In the early morning hours of July 23, 2011, about 36 people lost their homes and many of their belongings to a condo fire. Bay New 9, a tributary of Bright House Networks, reports that Clearwater’s Inverness Condominiums was ravaged by a blaze that made 36 units inhabitable, but fortunately caused minimal injury. Five people were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. It took almost four hours to get the flames under control, despite the fact that there were about 100 firefighters on the scene. The cause of the fire was unknown at that time.

What would you do if you suddenly found yourself without a closet full of clothing, a TV, a computer, and any of the countless other things you take for granted each day? By obtaining the proper Florida condominium insurance, you could be compensated for the losses caused by fire and other covered calamities.
