Moving into a Condo with Florida Condominium Insurance

Category: Our Blog

Are you moving into a new condo? Moving into a new home is exciting. Get organized for your move to the condominium by preparing a list. Besides preparing to move your personal property, you also need to arrange for utilities, garbage pickup, new school enrolments, and moving truck rental. You also need to remember to get Florida condominium insurance.

Start your move process by making up a list of everything involved in the move. Focus your energy and approach the move in small steps. Break your list down into three sections. Make a list of accomplishments one month before moving, two weeks before, and the final moving day.

One month before the move, you should schedule new services at the condominium and arrange for utility shut-offs at your current residence. Do some research and arrange to rent a moving truck, or alternately hire a moving company’s services. Arrange for school transfers if you have kids. Send in a change of address card to your post office.

Two weeks before the move is the time to concentrate on organization. Consider donating things to charity or have a yard sale for unwanted items. Pack your personal belongings in boxes and label for easy unpacking at the condo.

On moving day check off any last minute items on your list. You should be able to move into your new home knowing that you haven’t forgotten anything and that your Florida condominium insurance policy has you financially covered for risks.
